Character Animation with Asa Moveshevitz

Yay after weeks of 2d art and coding we get a treat!

Asa Movshevitz of Keyframe Studios was brought in to teach us about rigging and animation :) It was so nice to get back to 3DSMax and do a bit of modeling.  We all designed modeled and rigged our characters in one day.  I wanted to try out a low poly stylized look, I'm pretty happy with the model, and the rigging technique Asa showed us is very fast for humanoid characters! Cut down my rigging time from a few hours to a few minutes!

Next stage is to adjust the skinning of the character and then I can start bringing my knight to life :)  Hopefully we will meet with Asa again soon before we get too deep into our next project Synthespians.

The Presentation

Wow! Done... for a bit!
Just had the App Factory presentation today!  They all went really well, no one had any bugs or errors at least no one got caught :p
I think my presentation went pretty well, I was commended for getting a new piece of tech, an intro animation, a game and a mini game done in time but was called on the final (well not anymore) name I presented with. PhotoBlob... which made sense cos the character no longer ran so panorunner didnt really work and photblob was supposed to be like photobomb.... but now I realize im having to explain it in my own blog... so yea bad name. It was place holder and kinda never got replaced :p oh well there is still time to change that!
So I'm hoping over the next few months to tidy it up just a little bit more and publish it for IOS then I can show people on my phone yay!  but coming up very soon is the Brains Eden game jam in Cambridge! yay.
Josh Sam and I are heading there tomorrow lunch hopefully with our custom team shirts! woo! we lost Kai earlier but after the last game jam I know a 3 man team is totally capable :)
Well off to the pub to celebrate just about surviving another NFTS project yay!

Here's a few clips from my Intro Animation which was received quite well.... most people didnt quite get the plot which I understand its a little insane but I think the fact I actually made an animation was the most impressive/silly bit. :p
